A Prominent Participation in an International Human Rights Conference to Highlight the Issue of the Missing
Recently, our network participated actively in an international human rights conference held in Geneva, where we had the opportunity to present the challenges faced by Syrian families who lost their children on the asylum and migration routes. During the conference, the network’s representatives presented detailed reports on documented cases and the search and documentation efforts carried out by the network, which garnered widespread interest from the attendees.
The presentation included several discussion sessions covering topics such as:
- The legal and procedural challenges families face in their efforts to uncover the fate of the missing.
- The impact of losing loved ones on the psychological and social aspects of families.
- The importance of international cooperation in documenting cases of enforced disappearance.
Participants engaged with the issues raised, praising the tireless work and sincere efforts of the network and emphasizing the need for adopting joint strategies to address the problem of forced disappearances. Experiences and opinions were exchanged between human rights organizations and government representatives, fostering hope for achieving positive changes at both the international and local levels.
